Central Garden & Pet Company Product Named ABA Finalist
Central Garden & Pet recently announced their Adams Smart Shield Applicator product was a finalist in the 2012 American Business Awards (ABA) and will be crowned with a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award in the program.
The ABA awards honor the nation’s businesses, and all organizations based in the United States are eligible to submit nominations, both public and private, for-profit and non-profit, and large and small.
Adams Smart Shield is a topical flea and tick control delivery device that features a patent-pending design so that treatment gets down to a pets’ skin, where bugs live. It is touted as being able to kill fleas and ticks within 15 minutes and helps prevent re-infestation for up to two months.
Steve LeVeau, Director of Marketing -- Animal Health for Central Garden & Pet Company, shared, “We conducted multiple rounds of research and explored over 70 design concepts to create a flea and tick product that would fully satisfy pet owners looking to effectively treat pets.”
Over 3,000 nominations were submitted for the awards from the ABA in a variety of industries and categories. The finalists were selected by over 140 business professionals nationwide in the preliminary rounds that took place in April and May.
Central Garden & Pet was founded in 1980 as a distribution company and has evolved into the lawn and garden supply/pet supply industry that it is today. Efforts to achieve their present day status include strategic acquisitions and internal investments. They are on the NASDAQ National Market as CENT and CENTA, with headquarters in Walnut Creek, California.
