American Actress Sara Rue, perhaps best known for her roles on the television shows

Popular, has joined with Milk Bone Trail Mix snacks in challenging pet parents to celebrate with their dogs on June 2, 2012, a day that has been dubbed “National Trails Day” and is designed to celebrate dog-friendly hiking trails and being active with the family pet(s).
Hundreds of walks will take place across the country in honor of National Trails Day, which marks its 20th anniversary in 2012. The trail mix will be available for dogs to sample at events being held nationwide on June 2. Pet parents can come out and hike/walk with their dogs while trying the new product.
Milk Bone Trail Mix is a product recently released from Del Monte Pet Products and is available nationwide. The mix is touted as being oven baked and containing rolled oats, chewy treats, real beef, and sweet potato so that when combined it looks like classic trail mix.
Actress Rue shared, “Being active with your dog is not only good for the pet parent; it's beneficial for the pet's well-being. Incorporating your dog into your workout routine is a great way to provide natural encouragement while spending quality time with your pet."
Melinda Winter, senior brand manager for Milk Bone, reported that this is a first-of-its-kind product to hit the market. "We at Milk-Bone sincerely believe that dogs are a part of families and hope that pet parents and their dogs will hit the trails in celebration of National Trails Day on June 2,” she said.
