Doodie Pack, a lightweight, highly functional, and durable dog backpack in three sizes and seven colors for dogs between 8 and 180 pounds, recently introduced a canine and companion first aid kit to their product offerings.
Doodie Pack is the brainchild of Kristin Elliott, a science teacher and mother of three girls. Elliott got the idea one day when walking her dog. She encountered a mother pushing a baby carriage holding her crying baby on her hip, a leash in one hand and a bag of dog waste in the other hand (which was being flung around, hitting her and the baby while she attempted to control the dog and push the empty stroller). So successful is the product that it landed Elliott on the cover of Rochester Women magazine recently.
Doodie Pack is designed to carry waste bags, water, and essentials while out on a neighborhood walk and for keeping your hands clean and free.
Beyond its functionality, Doodie Pack is also used by behavioral trainers as an effective tool in the training process. Elliott shared, "Melissa Cocola, Master Cetified Trainer and Owner of Creekside Resort, in Upstate New York, uses the Doodie Pack on her canine ‘jumping’ clients. By adding weight asymmetrically, dogs are distracted into focusing on the weight of the pack. This, along with additional training, has ‘undone’ the unwanted behavior of jumping up.”
With the addition of a first aid kit that weighs 10 ounces, pet parents have emergency supplies at their fingertips while walking Fido. Contents include bandages, tape, alcohol wipes, cold pack, Bendryl, gauze pads, ibuprofen, butterfly bandages, vinyl gloves, scissors, and tweezers.
