The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association announced release of a new podcast series on pet travel for the summer. Dr. Phil McHugh, former president of the NCVMA explains and disscusses dangerous practices like letting a dog ride in the back of a pickup truck and letting an animal sit on the driver’s lap while on the road. The podcast can be downloaded at http://bit.ly/iO1DbC.
“It is extremely important that pet owners take their pet’s safety into account when planning a road trip,” said Claire Holley, executive director of the NCVMA. “Dr. McHugh has been helping animals as a veterinarian since 1985, and he knows how dangerous riding in a vehicle can be for an animal. We urge pet owners to listen to this podcast and to think ‘safety first’ for themselves, their families and their pets.”
NCVMA promotes integrity in veterinary medicine by encouraging education and life-long learning. They also support members in the media and in government affairs serving as a collective advocate for the profession.
