Thursday, Apr 26, 2012 9:37 am
Maggie Marton is a freelance writer, with a decade of print and web experience. Her work has appeared in Pet Enthusiast Magazine, Bloom Magazine, Petside.com, EcoSalon.com, and more. In 2010, Maggie launched Oh My Dog! Blog to chronicle her adventures in dog training, health, and products. She writes about animal welfare, and her blog highlights bully breeds as a way to educate, inspire, and entertain. In addition to her editorial work and blogging, she consults on marketing and branding campaigns for the pet product industry, publishing companies, and websites. Along with her love for writing about dogs, Maggie also contributes regularly to women's and lifestyle publications.
She serves on the board of directors for the Monroe County Humane Association and volunteers with her Staffie mix, Emmett, who is a therapy dog. With Emmett, she has provided animal assisted activities to hundreds of children in schools, libraries, and a mental health facility. Maggie participates in rescue campaigns, led an initiative to raise awareness about breed-specific legislation in Denver, and volunteers for all things animal-related like low-cost vaccination clinics.
Maggie lives in Bloomington, Ind., with her husband John; Emmett, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Plott Hound mix; Lucas, a shepherd mix; and Cooper, an American Pit Bull Terrier mix. You can contact Maggie at info@ohmydogblog.com, connect on Facebook and Twitter, or find her at ohmydogblog.com and maggiemarton.com.
