Website Launch of Pet-Focused Online Review Community
A resource focused on advice and reviews of pet care providers, retailers, and pet-friendly destinations has been launched. PetAdvocate.net has been created by two Denver marketing executives who share an animal passion.
Leila Ahmed and Cristy Gonzalez believe the time is right for a pet-focused community. Ahmed shared, “Over the last decade, online review websites dedicated to travel, restaurants and consumer services have taken off, but until now there has not been a destination for pet owners to find reliable, aggregated information about pet care and services.”
Visitors to PetAdvocate.net are able to post unbiased reviews, connect with other pet owners, and find recommendations by location for animal hospitals, animal shelters, veterinarians, pet boarders, pet sitters, groomers, pet supply stores and more. Pet owners can also find and share information about pet-friendly places, like dog parks, and events including animal charity activities.
Reviews and listings from across the country will be housed in PetAdvocate.net, but April marks the launch in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. The company has been beta testing the site since March of 2011 and currently has over 7,000 pet businesses listed. They plan to raffle an iPad3 after they reach 1,000 user reviews.
The site boasts pet places, reviews, a blog, a community forum, resources, and links to their social media pages. The site’s newsroom includes the latest happenings in the pet world, with updates expected. In addition to writing a review, users may submit videos and photos for upload.
