In an effort to celebrate pets and the happiness they bring to people’s lives along with encouraging pet adoption and raising awareness for homeless pets, the Hallmark Channel recently launched “Hallmark Channel’s Pet Project” campaign.
The campaign has been formed in conjunction with PetSmart Charities and the American Humane Association and will feature public service announcements, social media engagements, programming elements, and a host of website interactions including pet care tips, pet finding resources, videos, and photos. Original programming on the Hallmark Channel will include the original movie, Puppy Love, and the television special, The Second Annual American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards.
Bill Abbott, president and CEO, Crown Media Family Networks, shared, “Pets bring so much joy and enrichment to our lives and ‘Hallmark Channel’s Pet Project’ is designed to honor this incredible human-animal bond. We also hope the campaign will educate and mobilize our audience around the issue of pet homelessness and help find homes for some of the thousands of wonderful animals waiting to bring their gifts and unconditional love to a family of their own.”
Through cross-platform campaigns and multi-faceted levels of awareness, the partnership hopes to raise awareness of pets in need of forever homes and to encourage pet adoption. The American Humane Association has been a voice for animals, launching their advocacy in 1877.
Hallmark Channel viewers will be privy to pet segments on Hallmark’s array of daytime lifestyle shows, including Home & Family and Marie!
The Hallmark Channel is owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc., and is a 24-hour cable network available in both high definition and standard definition to an estimated 87 million subscribers. Visit www.hallmarkchannel.com/petproject for more information.
