Central Garden & Pet Names New Executive Vice President
A new Executive Vice President has been named at Central Garden & Pet Company, marketer and producer of lawn and garden pet supplies. As of May 7, 2012, Steven LaMonte will become Executive Vice President, President-Garden Segment and will report to Gus Halas. Halas is the President and Chief Executive Office of Central Operating Companies.
In his new capacity, LaMonte will have a senior management role and spearhead the leadership portion of the company’s Garden Products segment. His office will be based in Central Atlanta, Georgia. LaMonte has over 30 years of experience with consumer products companies. He recently was the Vice President of Latin America and Asia Pacific Regions for Johnson & Johnson’s McNeil Laboratories division. Before that, LaMonte held leadership roles at companies including Schering-Plough, Nestle Foods, and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.
Halas reported, “Steve’s diverse background in many critical components of the consumer products business will be a great asset to our company. We intend to leverage his broad knowledge of product innovation, marketing, and strategic planning to help drive forward our Garden Products segment. I look forward to working with him as we continue to build our branded products business."
