Vicki Boatright, also known by her artist name BZTAT (pronounced bee-zee-tat), is an active blogger with three different blog sites. She is an artist whose main subjects are companion pets, and she is an avid enthusiast for animal concerns. Currently she is engaging in her first effort at Trap-Nueter-Return (TNR) with a colony of feral cats, and she is involved in advocacy for an official policy for TNR in her hometown of Canton, OH.
Vicki spent 20 years as a counselor before turning to her artwork as a full time career. As a counselor, she recognized the connections between animal abuse, domestic violence and child abuse. After rescuing an abused cat, she gave birth to her Okey’s Promise: Art for a Cause project that uses art to raise awareness about these connections. People from all over the world have supported her Okey’s Promise public art projects.
Vicki shares images and writes about her art on her art blog BZTAT Studios. She also has developed a site for a cat character based on her real life cat Brewskie called. Just Meowin’. She hopes to license the Brewskie Butt brand and other art images in the future with pet product companies and other brands.
Vicki lives in Canton, OH with her 5 cats Okey, Brewskie, Noah, Who and Slick. She is the director of the Ohio Arts and Crafts Guild and it’s Creative Ohio Gallery, where she has a studio. She also maintains a gallery at Embrace Pet Insurance in Beachwood, OH.
