PEDIGREE Foundation Announces Grant Applications Being Accepted
Grant applications are currently being accepted from any non-profit, tax-exempt animal shelters and dog rescue groups from the PEDIGREE Foundation. These one-time Innovation Grants are designed for qualified organizations, with the application forms available beginning April 2, 2012, on the PEDIGREE Foundation website.
According to the PEDIGREE Foundation website, nearly four million dogs enter shelters every year, with half hoping to make it out. Innovation grants will fund creative programs and projects that help to increase adoptions. A total grant size of between $10,000 and $25,000 will be distributed in October based on the shelter’s quality and creativity of program along with its relevance to increasing dog adoption. Deadline to apply is June 30, 2012, at 5 pm EST.
Operation Grants assist in funding basic operations costs like facility or structure, transportation, medical, or spay and neuter, which in turn makes dogs more adoptable. PEDIGREE is in the process of modifying the Operational Grants and will post the procedures as soon as available. Interested parties may contact PEDIGREE.Foundation@effem.com.
Debra Fair, PEDIGREE Foundation president, shared, “For the third year, PEDIGREE Foundation is awarding Innovation Grants to animal shelters and dog rescue groups that demonstrate real innovation and out-of-the box thinking for raising awareness, volunteerism, donations and, ultimately, dog adoptions. We encourage communities to work together to support dog adoption and look forward to help fund creative programs."
A list of previous grant recipients and other successful nonprofit organizations can also be viewed on the PEDIGREE Foundation’s website. Interested parties should click on “Apply for a Grant” when visiting the website, create a pre-qualifying account, and then apply for an innovation grant. Innovation grants will be disbursed in the fall of 2012.
The PEDIGREE Foundation was formed in 2008 by the PEDIGREE brand. The Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps to find dogs in need their forever homes.
