FidoPharm, a company that offers PetArmor flea and tick prevention, has announced they have teamed up with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and PetArmor spokesperson, Amy Smart, in launching the PetArmor Protection Promise.
PetArmor has begun a new campaign that will provide treatments across the country to pets in need. They will distribute 20,000 flea and tick treatments to shelter pets in the United States. If consumers are interested in selecting a shelter to receive a treatment, they may log on to the PetArmor Facebook page.
The PetArmor Facebook page allows pet owners to choose where donations will go in three different ways: by supporting the ASPCA's national disaster relief efforts; selecting a shelter that faces a high incidence of fleas and ticks; or choosing a local shelter.
Jody L. Gangloff-Kaufmann, an urban entomologist at Cornell University and the New York State Integrated Pest Management Program, reported that 2012 promises to be a year where mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks will be out in full force. This is due to the mild winter most of the country has experienced.
PetArmor is touted as a fipronil-based generic flea and tick medication that costs half the amount as Frontline Top Spot. FidoPharm products, including PetArmor, are available at major retailers across the country and are priced much lower than branded veterinary products.
FidoPharm President Alex Kaufman, shared, “We are so thrilled to work with the ASPCA to launch the PetArmor® Protection Promise and give pet lovers an opportunity to help shelter pets in need.”
Amy Smart agreed, sharing, “As an animal rescue advocate and proud dog mom, I am so excited to be working with the ASPCA and PetArmor on this wonderful campaign that supports a cause I care so deeply about. I encourage pet owners everywhere to participate in the Promise and help ensure all pets receive the protection they need."
