According to a release from Alltech, with the world population growing rapidly and projected to reach 9 billion people by the year 2050, technology and global food product must improve and increase.
With 100 presentations planned by a variety of industry experts, the symposium will also include breakout sessions in the domains of aquaculture, beef, dairy, equine, poultry, pig production, pet food and regulatory in addition to new areas of focus.
Some of the speakers from major industry companies include Jack in the Box, Wendy’s, Nestle, Murphy-Brown, Future Farmers of America, PetSmart, the Harvard School of Business, and Domino’s Pizza.
In the companion-animal area, topics planned include disease prevention through antioxidants, longevity of pets including cognitive protection, and how algae can assist in the way pet foods are formulated. A track of sessions is planned that will explore how to capitalize on companion animal nutrition. Alltech is an animal feed ingredient company, so there will be other sessions focusing on the aspect of animal nutrition as well.
