Friday, Mar 16, 2012 8:45 am
In an effort to target the increasing number of elderly pets in need of a joint supplement, Flex Rx has been launched by ProLabs, according to Jim Glassford, Vice President of Marketing for ProLabs.
The product will be found a pet shops and retailers across the country and contains a patented combination of two plant-based ingredients called flavonoids. The company touts Flex Rx’s flavonoids as having a long history of success and without harmful side effects.
While attending the recent Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida, Glassford shared, “When joint discomfort affects dogs, they-like their owners-can experience a severely lower quality of life". Both large and small dogs can suffer from joint problems and decreased mobility.”
During an interview withPet Business magazine, Brian Reardon, Business Unit Manager for ProLabs, reported that a lot of glucosamine products on the mark take the “brick-and-mortar approach,” meaning if there is a wall with holes and they are covered with mortar, it is hoped the mason will use the brick and mortar to patch the wall. He shared that Flex Rx works to rid what is causing these holes in the wall.
ProLabs is a division of AgriLabs, Glassford reported that the companion animal division of ArgiLabs under the name Tradewinds was launched 15 years ago. The company eventually changed their name from TradeWinds to ProLabs because consumers suggested they wanted a name that exemplified a premium, trustworthy and quality health product.
In the summer of 1984, Agri Laboratories was established as a buying group of 25 distributor members and the founding management team. They continued to grow and make strides over the years and in October of 2009, they acquired the exclusive sales, marketing, and distribution rights for several cattle vaccines.
