A partnership announcement has been revealed between Cargill’sNutrena brand horse feeds and the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). Cargill Nutrena will be the presenting sponsor during the Nutrena AQHA Eastern Novice Championship, taking place in October, 2012, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Nutrena prides themselves on being a horse feed of choice for riders, trainers and horse owners across varying equestrian disciplines. The Nutrena brand began in 1921 with the Miller-McConnell Grain Company established in Kansas City, Kansas. In 2001, Nutrena entered a relationship with the AQHA, which is the world’s largest horse breed association.
Jackie Rieck, marketing manager for Cargill's Nutrena brand, reported, “Cargill is proud to be the official feed partner of AQHA. Sponsorship of the new East Novice Championship was an opportunity for us to help horse owners showcase their talents on a national level."
During the novice championships, novice amateur and youth competitors can qualify in one or more of the 12 classes being offered. If a competitor finishes in the top 10 in an AQHA regional event, they will be invited to compete on the national level.
Don Treadway Jr., AQHA executive vice president, shared his enthusiasm by reporting that this new AQHA novice championship is yet another way that AQHA members can enjoy time with their horses, and the support of Nutrena is helping to make the event possible.
Cargill reports that as a company they are committed to horses’ well-being and safety, along with that of livestock and pets. They manufacture and market Nutrena brand feeds and supplements for horses and livestock for all life stages. Cargill was founded in 1865 and is a privately held company employing 142,000 people in 66 countries.
