Furspray for Dogs Wins at Pet Expo and Gets Today Show Mention
PetPaint, a non-toxic colored hairspray for dogs recently was honored with the 2012 Global Pet Expo “Best New Product” for the “Best Of” awards. It was featured on the Today Show’s website as one of the wackiest and best products of the year for dogs.
President and founder of PetPaint, Abraham Geary, was present at the annual pet industry trade show, held yearly in Orlando, Florida. There, he showed how to use the dog-safe product to turn Fido into a variety of colors, wardrobes, and even team representation. His dog, Monkey, a terrier mix, helped attract and drawn attention to his booth.
Geary shared, “Our main goals are safety, quality, and fun. We were so happy to see people react positively to PetPaint at the Global Pet Expo and look forward to seeing others catch on to this colorful new way that owners can have fun with their dogs.”
The product has garnered attention from social media sites, Pinterest, Tout, and from pet bloggers and enthusiasts alike. The PetPaint is sprayed onto a dog’s fur and is touted as safe and veterinarian approved. Requiring about 10-20 seconds minimum and about two minutes maximum, PetPaint does not take a long amount of time to dry. It may be removed with the same shampoo used in giving the dog a bath and is a temporary application. It is safe for dogs but reported not to use on puppies six months old or less. If left on, the PetPaint will come out on its own.
To apply, shake the can, lay the outlines (such as stencils or shapes), and fill in the color or shading. Geary warns that the product is not to be sprayed in the eyes, mouth, on wounds, cuts or any other open and/or tender areas on a dog.
Geary plans to launch the product this summer via online website as well as in Halloween and pet stores. Pre-orders have begun from consumers and retailers at www.petpaint.com.
