The Sacramento Kennel Club and Cal Expo Dog Show Chairman, Mr. Richard Vida, announced today that registration is open for the annual all-breed dog shows, obedience trials and rally trials.
All competing dogs must be registered by the American Kennel Club (AKC), and be over 6 months of age. Cost for entry is $32.50, and registration will close on Wednesday, March 28th at 12:00pm PST.
“Our dog show is one of the longest-standing shows in the country, at almost 100 years old,” Vida said. “We can expect an impressive competition again this year, and as always welcome the community to attend, meet the breeds, enjoy our sport, and celebrate all things dog.”
The Cal Expo Dog Show will take place on Thursday, April 12th though Sunday, April 15th, 8:00am-9:00pm daily, and is open to the public. Only competing dogs will be allowed, and complete event and ticket information is available at www.CalExpoDogShow.com.

About the Sacramento Kennel Club
The Sacramento Kennel Club’s first records date back into the 1920s. In the beginning, it was part of the California State Fair in the 50s where it was immediately recognized as one of the premier shows in the country. In the 60s, Cal Expo was built in Sacramento, and it became our new home every year. In the 80s, several specialty clubs joined us and our growth has compounded year-after-year. Today, we celebrate one 4-day annual show, every April, and have become known for our outstanding show dogs, the competition, and as a great family-friendly event.
