A TINY KITTEN COMPETES IN A NATIONAL CONTEST BY GIANT WALMART - Molly Malone Needs a Home
Soon after Terry McMahon created a collection of Songs for Cat Lovers he gave a copy to famed animal rights activist, Cleveland Amory, who was on tour in Macon, Georgia and only too happy to give Terry a copy of the prolific author’s latest book featuring his cat named Bear.
One of Terry’s popular songs, Molly Malone, was composed with pet adoption in mind and used in a local Macon TV spot. Years later, Bernadette Peters was in Spokane, Washington and Terry shared a moment with her to receive a copy of her book, Broadway Barks. Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters promote pet adoption along with the show business community in New York. This inspired Terry to create a YOUTUBE Channel, ralphgus, named for the family dog Ralph and the family cat Gus.
9 Songs for Cat Lovers are on this Channel with additional videos and other materials being added as time permits. Molly Malone leaped into Terry’s mind when Walmart recently started a contest using Social Media. A few people through this contest have the opportunity to showcase their products on Walmart’s shelves. The public votes on their favorite through texting or via FACEBOOK as often as once a day until the contest ends on April 3, 2012. Here is Molly’s link:
When Terry McMahon started singing at age 8 he nearly always had a cat or a dog by his side. Later with private instruction in voice and piano and further formal training at the Interlochen Arts Academy where he met his future wife, he went on to sing in the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club. Polly pursued her education in psychology and teaching. Terry sang at the Tropicana Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and produced a show for Teleprompter Cable interviewing Las Vegas and Reno entertainers. Polly moved to San Francisco. Terry soon followed carrying a special package, a kitten, for Polly. They married with Polly pursuing her Doctorate and Terry auditioning for the San Francisco Opera and working at the U.S.P.H.S. Hospital with media projects. When Terry built a Studio for Holography in Macon, Georgia, Polly held a kitten which became the first feline hologram. =^..^= The McMahons love animals and are hoping that this contest will help give the added attention needed for pet adoptions to substantially increase.
