Pet Supplies Plus (PSP), presently headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, has plans to move to Livonia, Michigan in the near future.
Having recently executed a lease agreement of 33,000 square feet of office space, the national headquarters will make its new residence at Laurel Office Park III in Livonia as of April, 2012. At present, there are 80 people employed at the headquarters but an additional 30 new employees will be brought on in the departments of finance, information technology, in addition to merchandising and marketing positions.
Dave Bolen, president and chief executive officer of Pet Supplies Plus, wrote in a recent statement, “The prime location, together with the extensive renovations the building has undergone, made the decision to relocate extremely attractive for our organization and its employees. Our new headquarters will support our aggressive growth plan and enable us to attract top talent in the retail industry.”
Pet Supplies Plus is the third largest pet specialty retailer in the United States, with 257 stores in 23 states. PSP operates company-owned and franchised stores, which sell pet food and supplies.
The director of planning and economic development for the city of Livonia, Mark Taormina, reported that he met with Pet Supplies Plus company officials in November, 2011, to discuss their needs. PSP desired office space to accommodate growth and they decided to move to Livonia for future expansion and to meet their needs, according to Taormina.
