Phillips Feed and Pet Supply Acquires Mike's Feed Farm
Phillips Feed and Pet Supply, owned and operated as a family business since 1938, acquired Mike’s Feed Farm Wholesale Distribution Company this week.
With five distribution centers located in a variety of locations, one of the main Phillips locations is in Easton, Pa. Phillips services pet stores, farm and feed stores, groomers and veterinarians, along with humane organizations on the east coast.
Jessica Farina, Phillips Feed and Pet Supply marketing and inside sales manager said, “The primary objective for Phillips is to continue to build a best-in-class distribution network. One of our goals is to offer services that sustain the health of the pet specialty channel. We truly believe a major component of this goal is providing increased availability of products and services from a single-source distribution facility; as well as assuring that our retailers are kept in stock with fresh product and are up to date with the newest brands.”
The former owner of Mike’s Feed Farm Wholesale Distribution Company, Mike Goldsmith, will operate Mike’s Feed Farm retail store, which is located in Riverdale, N.J. The company has been in operation since 1984. They sell food for cats, dogs, small animals, domestic birds, deer, and horse and livestock feed in addition to pet supplies and treats.
Phillips Feed and Pet Supply has more than 40 people on their sales force to assist customers. The company now provides website ordering, scanners, barcode catalogs, and assurance of order accuracy.
