OurPet’sCompany, a proprietary pet supply company which was founded in 1995, has announced an organizational restructuring with the appointment of John M. Silvestri as President and Chief Operating Officer.

OurPet’sCompany’s roots began with the Big Dog Feeder raised feeding system. Some of the brands in the company’s portfolio include Durapet Premium Stainless Steel Pet Bowls, Pet Zone, ecoPureNaturals, Cosmic Catnip, SmartScoop, and Play-N-Squeak cat toys. The company is publicly traded as OPCO.

Silvestri’s career spans thirty years in executive and marketing and sales experience with contributions to employers such as The Procter & Gamble Company and M&M/Mars, Inc. He was recently the President and General Manager of LitterMaid Pet Products and President of Farnam Pet Products of Central Garden and Pet, Inc.

Tsengas continued in his commentary by sharing that 2011 was a year to prepare for OurPet’sCompany’s next phase of growth. They focused on company resources, implementing a new ERP system, and expanded facilities for higher level activity and consolidation of 2011’s Cosmic Pet acquisition. It is believed that Silvestri’s addition to OurPet’sCompany will enable Tsengas and his team to place a larger emphasis on innovative product development and strategic acquisitions.
