Pet Planet Introduces Pet Nutrition and Health Consultation Program
Pet Planet, which opened its first store in 1996, announced a new customer-oriented pet health guidance program to be launched at all of its North American locations in March, 2012.
Having grown from one Calgary location 15 years ago by Laura Leah English and her mother Joan Bauer, Pet Planet stores total 44 in North America and average 2,500 square foot per store. Offering health food and nutritional products for pets, Pet Planet offers franchise opportunities.
The new web-based kiosk program is designed to allow ease of use and be consistent, educational, and accurate with recommendations for pet products. Customers answer a few questions about their pet and at the end, the Nutritional and Health Consultation will suggest recommendations for food, supplements, treats, toys, and offer access to the education center. The database will send results to the customer’s e-mail address for further access.
Designed to complement the educational center, the Nutritional and Health Consultation will answer questions for consumers about common pet health concerns, according to the company.
The creed of the franchise is “to encourage a global society where all pets are loved, respected, protected and kept in good health; a society without pet overpopulation, homelessness or abuse.”
For those interested in franchising, Pet Planet assists with the preparation and submission of a finance application to the appropriate lending institution. A one-time franchise fee of $30,000 applies and ongoing royalties are six percent of gross sales, payable semi-monthly.
