Suzuki Features Dogs and Free Pet ID Tags in Super Bowl Ad
Suzuki recently released its Super Bowl commercial and it can be viewed on their Youtube channel. The 60-second Super Bowl spot features Suzuki’s Kizashi Sport vehicle. This is the second year in a row that Suzuki is using a winter theme in its game day ad. The 2011 commercial showcased snowmen in wicked weather conditions.
This year, the ad features Inuit people and their sledding canines. The sled, during the commercial, is replaced with a Kizashi. To be aired in both 30- and 60-second spots during and after the Super Bowl, the Kizashi ads are part of a new ad campaign by Suzuki slated to begin this March.
The first 1,000 people who register on the Suzuki website in response to the new ad will receive a scannable pet identification tag. For every tag that is sent out, a $3 donation will be given from Suzuki to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund.
The intent of the ad this year is to remind viewers that Eskimos, who generally rely on dogsleds for their winter mode of transport (cliché wise), are now relying on the Kizashi vehicle.
The ad is titled “Sled” and early reports indicate viewers are finding it catchy and memorable, which is what commercials strive for during the highly profiled yearly football event.
