AKC/Eukanuba National Championship to Air on ABC Television Network
Saturday, February 4, 2012, marks the date for the annual American Kennel Club (AKC)/Eukanuba National Champioship dog show to be aired on the ABC Television Network at 2 p.m. EST.
Commentators for the show will be ESPN Anchor Todd Grisham and the American Kennel Club’s Assistant Vice President, Gina DiNardo.
DiNardo shared, “This year will be extra exciting as we present top show dogs who made it to the seven groups from the largest invitation-only dog show in AKC's history, as well as the largest dog show in the country in 2011/. Viewers will be able to watch each of AKC's 173 breeds as well as learn how the predictability of purebred dogs can make it easy to match a particular breed to fit your lifestyle.”
There are six new AKC-recognized breeds making their television debut in this year’s show and they are the American English Coonhound, Cesky Terrier, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Norwegian Lundehund and Xoloitzcuintli.

While the show is airing, behind-the-scenes footage will be provided on the AKC’s official Facebook page. A Tweet Chat will occur at the same time using the hashtag #AKCEukShow. Fans will be able to network and cheer for their favorite dog.
