AVMA Seeks Nominations and Applications for Future Leaders Program
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) is seeking nominations and applications for their Future Leaders Program. The program is designed for volunteer leader development with the AVMA and other veterinary organized groups.
This program welcomes AVMA members who have graduated within the last 15 years. They seek to increase leadership and problem-solving skills in areas that would benefit veterinary medicine for people in all areas of the profession.
A total of up to ten participants will complete the training exercises in both project and leadership management and will work with a professional facilitator throughout. They will also work together on one project.
Deadline to submit a nomination or application is February 20, 2012. Preference will be given to people who have leadership experience and/or who are nominated by a principal or constituent allied veterinary medical organization in the AVMA House of Delegates.
Interested parties may visit www.avma.org and click on the “Services” blue bar and scroll down to the “leadership development” area.
The AVMA was established in 1863 and is a not-for-profit association that represents over 82,500 veterinarians working in different sectors. They act as a collective voice for their members and the profession as a whole.
